So yesterday I posted on my Twitter as you can read to the left - "has learned that when it comes to my life, it all evens out. Who can complain when you even out? Like that episode of Seinfeld..." For those of you who've never seen it, I've seriously looked for a good twenty minutes to find that episode. I've checked everywhere, and can't find a free version to show you. At any rate, today my day was proof positive of that...
I woke up on time, my hair cooperated and was ready to leave early (so that I could go get gas in my car) went to put on my flip flop and was angry to find that my rebellious (and somewhat bitchy) cat had decided to pee on my favorite most comfortable (and therefore expensive) DC flip-flop. (1st even out) So I rinsed off the flip flop, leaving it on the counter. I instead wore another pair of flip flops which ironically matched better. So at work, during my lunch (to counteract the soda I have first thing) I walk on my lunch. These other flip-flops are clearly not meant for such an ordeal. I have three to six blisters on my feet. (2nd even out)

The Home Stretch
So I realized today that I have a mere 94 (and diminishing) days left as a bachelorette. I'm more than ready to be past this day. There's been many a days where I've seriously considered the elope option: when we realized how big our guest list truly is, when we started looking at costs, when scheduling started to all fall through.... all that crazy stuff.

What a stye....
I'm no stranger to obscure, and uncommon medical things. In my 24 years, I've experienced two surgeries, kidney malfunctions, the typical vision problems (I've been wearing vision correction since I was 12), but my newest medical accomplishment? A stye of the eye. Its strange, styes are a common occurrence for my younger brother, and my older sister developed one recently. Styes are new to me. I was in normal condition (well as normal as I can be) when I was at work yesterday. I put on my sunglasses, stopped by my house quickly then headed to my aunts. After only an hour there, I headed home. After walking in my front door, a mere hour and a half after leaving there, I took off my sunglasses to this excruciating pain in my right eye. It felt like someone had poked me in the eye. I felt completely blindsided. Just an EXTREME pain. After an hour I checked my eye in the mirror to see that it was in fact swollen. I put a hot washcloth on my eye, as instructed, but alas... It got cold. At any rate, I was well asleep very early for a mid-twenty-year-old. I woke up this morning, with less constant pain, and more of a occasional "only-when-I-try-to-rewet-my-eye-type-blink" excruciating pain. At any rate, my treatment? A constant hot compress. So, due to my incessant secular pain in my head, my standard house-work sort-of duties have been slacking... Thus leaving me, and my home in the hands of a stye. Another time...

The Maiden Voyage
With a title such as that, there are many things that could apply. Whether its about being a 'maid' about to become a matron, a 'maid in voyage' as in a soul desire to travel around the world, or the first flight of this blog. All seem to apply in many respects. There are many things that will be discussed throughout my posts. Many will be about the wedding planning as we are coming down to the final months and into the notorious "crunch time". But then some will be stories about past trials and tribulations. Everything from high school memories, to college memories, to post-college memories. At some point I may even add a photo album or two. At any rate the long and short of this is to inform, entertain and teach.... just like any other good source of reading. So thanks for coming and see you next time!
For now, I'm off to celebrate a belated Father's Day with my father, his wife and the brothers. Bon Voyage! :)
